If your hope is in God alone, you will never be disappointed.
God promised Abraham an inheritance that included land, a Redeemer, and descendants as numerous as the stars in the heavens. Despite his wife Sarah being barren, God assured Abraham that he would provide an heir through her. All Abraham was required to do was believe in God's word. However, God did not fulfill this promise until 25 years after Abraham and Sarah passed their childbearing years. At that time, Abraham was 100 years old, and Sarah was 99.
Romans 4:19-21 (ESV) - In speaking of Abraham, states: “He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah's womb. No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God, fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised.” Though it seemed hopeless, yet in hope, Abraham believed in God.
Abraham's faith in God strengthened as he learned to be patient for the fulfillment of God's promise, bringing glory to Him. Don't give up hope, no matter how hopeless your circumstances may seem. Keep trusting the Almighty God, who can do immeasurably above all we can ask or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)
